Dibrugarh University Admission Notice 2019-20 : Master of Social Work (MSW)

Online applications are invited from eligible candidates for admission into the Master of Social Work (MSW) Programme for the Academic Session 2019-2020. The Programme consist of 4 (four) Semesters with a total duration of 2 (two) academic years.

Eligibility for Admission:

(A) 10 + 2 + 3 Bachelor's degree from a recognized university with a minimum of 45 percent marks in major or aggregate (40 percent for Schedule Tribes candidates and Other Backward Classes).

Candidates whose outcome for the qualifying examination is not yet declared may also apply if they are confident that they meet all the admission criteria and are able to submit the original mark sheets before the admission process is completed.

(b) Preference may be given to candidates from the North-Eastern States.

Application Procedure:
The applicant must apply online through Dibrugarh University's "Online Application Submission" portal, which is available from 05.06.2019 at www.dibru.online. The last date of online application submission is 05/07/2019. The application fee of Rs.500/- needs to be paid at the time of applying online through Debit Card/Credit Card/Internet Banking. When the application is successfully submitted, a "SUCCESS" status acknowledgement slip will be generated. Candidates are advised to download and print the Acknowledgement Slip along with the submitted Application Form and Admit Card for future reference. Selection Procedure:
A 75-minute written test (60 marks) followed by group discussion (25 marks) and personal interview (15 marks) will select candidates for admission. Only qualified candidates who secure at least 45 percent marks in the Written Test will be requested for group discussion and personal interview. The Written Test will assess a candidate’s knowledge of and sensitivity to contemporary social issues, general knowledge, and reasoning as well as analytical abilities of English. The Group Discussion duration would be up to 20 minutes per group.

The candidate must secure at least 45 percent marks separately in personal interview to qualify for admission; group discussion and the Written Test. Admission is strictly based on merit (marks secured in total admission test, GD and PI). The selected candidates shall have to bring all the following documents in original during the day of final admission:

a) Pass Certificate and Marks Sheets from HSLC onwards.
b) Character Certificate from the institute last attended.
c) Medical Certificate from a registered medical practitioner vouching the candidate’s fitness.

***** No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the employer (if employed) for attending the Program.

Important Dates & Admission Schedule:
1. 17th July, 2019 (Wednesday): Written Test from 10.00 a.m. to 11.15 a.m. Results of the Written Test will be declared on the same day at 4.30 p.m. through the University Website.

2. 18th July, 2019 (Thursday):

Group Discussion from 10.00 a.m. to 1.30 pm
Personal Interview from 2.30 p.m. onwards

3. Notification of the provisionally selected candidates and Date of Admission will be notified in the website: www.dibru.ac.in
